A local Scout and various assistants recently demolished a partially-burned storage facility at the Franklin County Fairgrounds, saving the county and local fair board a significant amount of money and time.
Weston Garbett, 14-year-old son of Todd Garbett, organized the effort that took two days and included 253 hours of volunteer time. Garbett, 16 boys, and five adults worked from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. on Feb. 3 and from 8 a.m.-noon the next day to complete the project.

Members of Trapper Trails Council Troop 34, and some of their leaders stand where the sheds used to be.
