A big-game scoping meeting will be held in Preston on Thursday, March 1, to discuss Idaho Department of Fish and Game proposals for this fall’s hunting seasons for deer, elk, mountain lion, black bear, and pronghorn.

The Preston meeting will be at the Larsen-Sant Library, 109 S. 100 East, and will start at 6:30 p.m.

Jennifer Jackson, of the IDFG, said big-game hunters can hear proposals for hunting seasons for these species at the meeting. They will also have an opportunity to ask questions and provide comments, she said.

Big-game proposals will be available for review by Feb. 27. The public will be able to view and comment on the proposals via Fish and Game’s website at fishandgame.idaho.gov or by contacting the southeast regional office in Pocatello at 208-232-4703, said Jackson. The deadline for submitting public comments to the southeast regional office is 5 p.m. on Friday, March 9.
