Clifton City Council set a date for a public hearing for March 6, so residents can review and comment on city ordinance 119 – adopting an international building code. During that hearing, the hiring of John Burg as their inspector will also be discussed. Burg will be the city inspector, with the exception of codes that require a state licensed inspector, such as wiring electrical inspections. Fees for the building permits will be split between the city on a 30/70 schedule, with Burg handling the issuing of those permits. Burg is currently the county building inspector and will be available to handle the city permits. A notice of that hearing will be sent to each resident of the city by clerk Eve Waite.
