MEEK – HARLEY

Benjamin Meek and Katie Harley are pleased to announce their wedding on Tuesday, May 21, 2013, in the Bountiful LDS Temple. Ben is the son of David and Amy Meek of Smithfield, Utah. Katie is the daughter of David and Daphne Harley of Mount Pleasant, S.C.

Ben graduated from Preston High School. He served an honorable full time mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Vladivostok Russia. He is currently serving as a sergeant in the U.S. Army in Washington, D.C., and served a tour in Iraq from 2010-2011. Being in D.C. has brought him great things – the best being Katie.

Katie graduated from Wando High School in Mount Pleasant, S.C., and afterward, from Marymount University with a Bachelor’s of Art in graphic design. She now works for McMurry/ TMG, a custom publishing and content marketing firm, as Print Production Assistant in their Washington, D.C., office.

The couple will live in Silver Spring, Md. They are registered at Target and Bed, Bath and Beyond. They would like to thank friends and family for all their love and support.

There will be an open house in Preston at the former residence of Dave and Amy Meek (276 S. 2nd E.) on Wednesday, May 22, from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and a reception on June 22 in Mount Pleasant, S.C.

SHARP – ALDER

Debra and Kevin Sharp of Preston are pleased to announce the marriage of their daughter, Karen, to David Alder, the son of Gail Alder and the late Wayne Alder. They have chosen Friday, May 24, 2013, to begin their journey together.

Karen graduated from Preston High School in 2002. She is employed part-time at Groll Family Fitness as well as the Franklin County Landfill.

David graduated from Preston High School in 1996. He is employed part-time at Stokes MarketPlace and as a beekeeper with Newswanders. David served a two-year LDS mission to Tampa, Fla.

An open house will be held in their honor Friday, May 24, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Winder Ward church house, 4400 N. 1600 W. We invite all friends and family to celebrate with us.

Karen and David are registered at Stokes MarketPlace in Preston.

SISTRUNK – THROCKMORTON

Chuck and Debbie Sistrunk, of Preston, are pleased to announce the engagement and marriage of their son, Chad Raymond Sistrunk to Tara Throckmorton of Genola, Utah. They will be married in the Provo LDS Temple on May 24, 2013. The parents of the bride are Max and Gaylene Throckmorton of Genola.

A reception will be held in Chad and Tara’s honor on May 24, 2013, at the Genola church at the corner of Center and Main in Genola, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on May 24. An open house will also be held on May 25, from 6-8 p.m. at the Preston South Stake Center in the multi-purpose room at 55 E. 100 S., Preston.

Chad and Tara wish to express their gratitude to all of their family and friends for their support throughout their lives.

The couple will make their home in Genola.

Jeff Maughan, of Preston, and Traci Nilson and Warner Macbeth, of Franklin, are proud to announce the marriage of their daughter, Brittany Jessica Maughan, to Laramie James Goodsell, son of Paul and Xanthe Goodsell of Clifton.

The happy couple will be married on their two year anniversary at the Luxor Hotel in Las Vegas, Nev., on May 18, 2013.

When the couple return from their honeymoon, a cookout will be held in their honor on May 25 at Franklin City Park.

 

BASTIAN – BOURNE

Stewart and Melanie Bastian are pleased to announce the marriage of their daughter Brittani to Tyson Bourne, son of Kevin and Jill Bourne.

Brittani graduated from West Side High School and attended USU. After graduation from high school, Tyson served in the New England Mission. Tyson and Brittani met at Western Swing Night at the Funpark and started dating shortly after. They will be sealed in the Logan LDS Temple Friday, May 17. A reception will be held in celebration that evening at Mendon Station from 6-8 p.m. The happy couple is registered at U&I Furniture of Preston and Kitchen Kneads of Logan. Brittani and Tyson will make their home in Vernal. If anyone has been accidentally forgotten in all of the chaos, please join us that evening at the reception to celebrate this joyous occasion.

 WOMACK – CARTER

 Scott and Kelly Womack, of Franklin, are pleased to announce the marriage of their daughter, Kynzie, to Zackery Kirk Carter, son of Kay and Diane Carter of Preston.

They will be sealed for time and all eternity in the Logan LDS Temple on May 16, 2013. A reception will be held in their honor that evening to celebrate their marriage.

Kynzie is a 2012 graduate of Preston High school and LDS Seminary. She was active in volleyball, Key Club and National Honor Society. She attended Idaho State University and plans to continue her education at Utah State University.

Zack is a 2009 graduate of West Side High School and LDS Seminary. He lettered in football and was active in FFA. Zack served an honorable full time mission in the Peru Lima South Mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from 2010-2012. Currently, he is employed on his family farm.

Zack and Kynzie will make their home in Preston.

COLE – YARDLEY

David and Angie Cole of Preston, Idaho, are pleased to announce the marriage of their daughter, Brittani, to Justin Roy Yardley, son of Roy and Susan Yardley of Franklin, Idaho.

They will be married on Saturday, May 4, 2013, in the Logan LDS Temple. A reception will be held in their honor that evening from 7-9 p.m. in the Franklin Stake Center, in Franklin, Idaho.

Brittani is a 2010 graduate of Preston High School and LDS Seminary. She participated in volleyball, basketball and softball. She was also a member of the National Honor Society and Key Club. She went on to continue her education at Salt Lake Community College where she participated in volleyball. Brittani plans to attend Bridgerland to become a medical assistant.

Justin is a 2007 graduate of Preston High School and LDS Seminary. He participated in football, basketball, track and field; and was a member of the National Honor Society. He served a full time mission in the Sierra Leone Freetown Mission from 2008-2010. He continued his education at Snow College where he participated in basketball. Justin is currently attending Utah State University, majoring in exercise science, with plans to become a physician’s assistant.

The couple will reside in Logan, where they will continue their educations. Justin and Brittani would like to thank all their family and friends for their love and support.

 SWAINSTON – SHOAF

Richard and Jennifer Swainston of Preston are pleased to announce the marriage of their son, Richard Cody, to Emma Mae Shoaf, daughter of Jeff and Cindy Shoaf of Hope, Ind. They will be married Friday, May 3, 2013, in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. An open house will be held in their honor on Saturday, May 4, from 6-8 p.m., at the Swainston home.

Emma is a 2009 graduate of Hauser High School in Hope, Ind. She will be graduating from Utah State University with a Bachelor of Science in agribusiness and a minor in animal science on May 4, 2013.

Cody is a 2007 graduate of Preston High School. He served an LDS mission in the California San Bernardino Spanish-speaking Mission. He is currently attending Utah State University dual majoring in agricultural economics and animal science.

The couple is registered at Wal-Mart and at Bed, Bath and Beyond.
