The West Side girls delivered again Wednesday night with another basketball victory. They played the North Gem Cowboys and won 53-35.
The Pirates came out really strong in the first quarter and scored 16 points. The hot trend just continued to add from there. It was good they gave themselves good momentum in the first half because it established them in the third quarter and the rest of the game.
They started off really great and finished really strong.
“Tonight was a really great game that helped us get back on our feet. We needed a little boost and I think this did it. We are playing really well as a team and I think it’s our time to peak,” said Janessa Layland the Pirate’s forward.
“We played really good offense and got the ball inside to the posts. We were able to get some good shots from them. We were a little lazy, but still played really well,” said Alyssa Povey.
The Pirates are hoping to continue winning when they host the Grace Grizzles at home on Friday.
