Randolph Seamons runs a projector at the Worm Creek Opera House during the Lions-sponsored free movie held in conjunction with the Festival of Lights celebration.
The Worm Creek Opera House is in need of a new projector. The digital age is forcing the Franklin County Theatre Arts Council to look at a new way to show movies.
Movie theaters across the country are changing from movie reels to the digital world.
“The movie industry has informed us the clock is ticking on the need for a new digital projector. We have four years to raise $60,000 for a projector, and if we don’t come up with it there will be no more movies at the Worm Creek,” said Cecile Costly, vice-president of the organization.
