Franklin County Grain Growers Co-op, an 81-year-old institution in the community, will become Valley Wide Co-op on Jan. 1.
Local stockholders voted overwhelmingly in favor of a proposal to merge with Valley Wide last month. Local manager Steve Hinckley said 86 percent of those who cast ballots at a meeting in November approved the measure. A two-thirds majority of stockholders was needed.
