Jeff Hollingsworth has been working on his lighted Christmas displays since before Halloween. His family home and acreage at 1585 N. State has had lights and cut outs of different Christmas scenes for over 20 years.
This year Jeff and his wife Lee are the only ones left to put out the thousands of lights and hundreds of displays. “I don’t know how much longer I can keep doing it. At one time, it was a family thing, with all four children chipping in to help, but now the Hollingsworths are empty nesters, their kids have left home, so the burden is all on the two of them. Jeff has tried to do some recruiting, but sometimes it yields little results. He will be out on the next few Saturdays connecting his extension cords to his 20 motors and up to 60 spotlights, running off of six 220 volt boxes. (See the full story in The Preston Citizen.)
