With signs held high and to the beat of a drum, a group of supporters marched in to help honor Launa Moser at the IAHPERD Conference on Friday, Oct 21. Moser was given the Distinguished Service Award, the most prestigious award given by the Idaho Association of Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (IAHPERD). She had no clue that she would be the recipient and was very surprised when she heard the banging of the drum.
“I heard that drum, and I thought, ‘Oh goodness, that’s Jean …’” said Launa, still smiling about her friend and fellow teacher, Jean Paskins of the West Side School District, who led other HEN (Health Eduction Network) members, friends and family in to present the award.
