Kris Beckstead said things went well Saturday morning, despite the cold temperature and snow flurries. About 35 people showed up to help decorate the trees with lights along State Street. It took about two hours to put the lights up. Those who came brought ladders, step stools and even some bucket tractors to get the lights on the trees.
The more dedicated of the volunteers stayed until about 4 p.m and put up lights in the city park. (See the full story in The Preston Citizen.)
