Preston’s Brennyn Dunn, after catching a pass, laterals to Tyson Lumbreras in the second half of Friday night’s game with Pocatello. Lumbreras picked up additional yardage.
POCATELLO – Seven turnovers Friday night spelled doom for Preston as it battled top-ranked Pocatello in the quarterfinals of the state football championship at Holt Arena.
Those turnovers stymied several Preston drives and many of them led to Pocatello scores. The result was a 48-21 victory for Pocatello and ended the Indians 2011 season.
“I was hoping for a better start this time against Poky, but it didn’t happen. For them to jump out 21-0 in the first quarter made it very tough to keep up,” said head coach Shawn Marlow. (See the full story in The Preston Citizen.)
