The students in the Preston School District participated in one of the largest earthquake drills on record at 10:20 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 20, with over 85,000 other students and faculty from other Idaho schools. Millions of other students from locations including California, Nevada, Arizona, Canada, and Guam participated in the Great Shake Out.
PJHS Principal Lance Harrison said that he had his students take part in the Drop, Cover, and Hold on drill so they could actively practice what to do in the event of a real earthquake. (See the full story in The Preston Citizen.)
