Both Preston Police Chief Val Sparrow and Franklin County Sheriff Don Beckstead said law enforcement will be out and about on Halloween, patrolling communities on Monday, Oct. 31, to ensure the safety of children.
Halloween this year falls on Monday. “The biggest thing we want to concentrate on is the safety of children who may be out trick-or-treating,” said Sheriff Beckstead. “I am advising parents to accompany children.”
Sparrow said he encourages children to attend organized parties and activities, so there is more control over the type of candy and goodies that is collected.
