POCATELLO – The Preston boys soccer team brought home their first 4A district title on Saturday, Oct. 15. The 1-0 victory at Century in a loser out scenario was intense and hard fought. The last time Preston won the title was their final year in 3A eight years ago.
Century came out strong and had some good opportunities, but Preston scored first just 17 minutes into the game when Landon Broadhead got the ball to freshman Jorge Sanchez. Like in so many other games, Sanchez took a shot and drilled it, this time from easily 40 yards out to the top left corner. The battle was on and 63 grueling minutes later Preston overcame all for the title. (See the full story in The Preston Citizen.)
