West Side’s John O’Brien, a junior, carries the ball against Soda Springs on Friday night. He had a big night, both offensively and defensively. The West Side win puts the Pirates in a district title game this Thursday against the Malad Dragons.
DAYTON – Friday night the Pirates went up against a team in their own district, the Soda Springs Cardinals.
After hearing about the Cardinals’ comeback against Malad the previous week, West Side realized Soda was going to be a much improved team compared to the previous year
The first offensive play they scored a long touchdown, but didn’t make the PAT. West Side scored again making it 20-14. West Side stopped Soda one last time and got the ball back to run down the clock. (See the full story in The Preston Citizen.)
