Juan Mores clears the shingles from the roof of the Oneida Stake Academy recently.

A recently organized fundraising committee is reaching out to the Franklin County community for help in restoration efforts of the Oneida Stake Academy.

“Our over-all goal is to get the community involved in this cause to make the Academy an addition to the area instead of an eyesore,” said Saundra Hubbard, chair of the committee.

She said the committee is looking for 100 people who will donate $1,000 over a two-year period.

“We are also looking for 100 people to donate $500 over a two-year period; another 100 who will donate $250 over a two-year time frame; and another 100 who will commit $100 over a one-year period,” she said.

“If we can get these pledges it will result in $175,000 that will be used in the renovation work.”  (See the full story in The Preston Citizen.)
