Laken Hemsley
Laken Hemsley, 17, Franklin County Distinguished Young Woman 2011, left for Idaho Falls, Saturday, Oct. 1, to begin her week of preparation and competition for the state title. Hemsley, the daughter of Lance and Laurie Hemsley, with 38 other talented contestants from all over Idaho, will begin their week by working on a fitness and self expression routine. They also work on an opening number.
During the competition Hemsley has prepared for interviews and to perform her talent before the judges. Hemsley is scheduled to perform a piano solo for her talent, show her fitness routine and her self expression routine during the three days of the contest.
