Volunteers sought in effort to revive holiday tradition

Some concerned businessmen contacted Preston City Councilwoman Saundra Hubbard about continuing the Festival of Lights tradition, after reading the article in The Citizen two weeks ago.
Hubbard said some of the businessmen did not want to be recognized, but said that one of them was Kris Beckstead. Beckstead offered to be a contact for the movement to get the Festival of Lights back to the glory days.
“We have a gung-ho group of community leaders who want to see the Festival continue,” said Hubbard. But, she said, “It has to be a community effort. We need to have volunteers step-up and help with decorations.” (See the full story in The Preston Citizen.)
