Chris Barnes, third grade teacher at the Oakwood Elementary, has been chosen as the 2011-2012 Teacher of the Year, after being nominated by the Preston School District’s Administration Board.
She has been with the school district 21 years, teaching at both the Oakwood and Pioneer schools, and today, she said, she is now teaching students belonging to former students, making this a second generation experience. “It makes parent/teacher conferences fun.” (See the full story in The Preston Citizen.)
