The Idaho Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) announced Thursday they are going to offer cash rebate and discounts to Franklin County residents who purchase wood burning stoves.
DEQ Airshed Coordinator Melissa Gibbs said the purpose of the program is to help improve the air quality in the area by providing a financial incentive for homeowners to replace old, air polluting wood stoves with a new EPA-certified stove, insert or natural gas propane unit.
