The author of “Hatter and Jabberwocky!” and firefighter Daniel Coleman will be featured in the kick-off of the “Great Reads for Girls” mother and daughter book club at the Larsen-Sant Library.
The program will start Wednesday, Oct. 5, at 7 p.m., with Coleman sharing how he started writing and how audience members can create their own story. Mothers or another caring adult are invited to attend with daughters ages eight-to-12 years old.
Following the Oct. 5 program, the book club will meet the third Thursday of each month at 7 p.m. A book-of-the-month will be discussed along with completion of a craft and refreshments, said Library Director Cloteele Dahle.
Penny Wright will lead the evening, with the first book, to be discussed Oct. 20, “The Beef Princess of Practical County,” by Michelle Houts.
Those interested can register at the library.
