The Indians extended their winning streak to nine with a 1-0 victory on the road against Burley on Saturday.
Jordan Sparks, assisted by Aaron Dryden, was the lone scorer for Preston but that was all they needed to win.
“A really nice complete team effort,” said Coach Brandon Lyon. “Burley is a tough place to win and the boys withstood a lot of pressure late to gain another victory and shutout.”
Even more important than being undefeated or earning a shutout was the win over Century on Preston’s field on Thursday. The 1-0 outcome places the Indians first in the district which will give them home-field advantage during the district tournament if they can maintain it.
Preston travels to Pocatello on Sept. 22 to play the Northern Indians at 4 p.m. and then to Rigby on Sept. 24.
GIRLS SOCCER
The Lady Indians struggled with illness and injuries on Thursday against Century in Pocatello. The resulting 8-0 loss was disheartening to say the least but the team and Coaches remain optimistic.
The Indians play on Sept. 22 when they host Pocatello at 4:30 p.m.
