Franklin County residents resoundingly defeated the $30 million hospital bond proposal nearly two years ago. And while that has spelled the end to a new Franklin County Medical Center (FCMC) for now, the hospital board and staff are working to make necessary upgrades on the existing campus.
Those upgrades range from the more cosmetic, such as painting of corridors, to replacing some of the floors, to the previously-reported computer software and hardware and phone system, as well as some concrete work and more.
But Hospital Administrator Mike Andrus told The Citizen late Wednesday that he’s awaiting word on a $7 million loan application made with the USDA. (See the full story in The Preston Citizen.)
