Girls open with win

The Indian girl’s soccer began their season with a bang beating 5A Madison 3-1 on Friday, at home despite rain and slippery field.

Preston hosted Minico on Tuesday. The team traveled to Marsh Valley this Saturday at 11 a.m. and host Canyon Ridge on Tuesday, Sept. 2, at 4:30 p.m.

“Friday was a good start to the season against a good 5A program,” said coach Brandon Lyon. “It was a typical first game of the season. There were some good and some shaky moments. But to start off the season with a win, we’ll take it any way it comes.

“Chloe Hendrickson had a great game with the hat trick. Morgan Hall did a great job putting pressure on their back line and really opening up some holes and gaps. And Karley Jenson did a great job controlling the middle of the field.”
