Preston’s Zac Roper has signed a two-year scholarship to play soccer for the Mustangs of Western Wyoming Community College in Rock Springs.
His plans are to attend one year before he serves a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Roper started playing soccer at the age of three. He was chosen to play with the competitive Avalanche team beginning in the fourth grade, where he made many lasting friendships.
Some of his favorite experiences have been winning gold at the Utah Summer Games in Cedar City and becoming district champions this past season at Preston High School.
He has been on the roster for The Herald Journal’s All Valley Soccer Team two years in a row and he currently holds the school record for the most goals scored in a season.
He has also enjoyed playing in a spring league for the PVSC team out of Pocatello for the past two years.
