Perfect night for dragging

An estimated 100 cars showed up for the third annual “Mugs & Banana” Drag Night in Preston on Saturday night.

Bruce Jeppesen and Val Preece organized the event. The first drag night was held two years ago in Tremonton. Last year it was held in Brigham City.

Close to 100 vintage hot rods, classics and antique cars and their owners turned out for the “Mugs & Banana” drag night in Preston on Saturday evening. The weather was perfect and many participants said they had a “blast.”

Jeppesen, who graduated from Bear River High School, said he thought school reunions were boring and was asked what it would take to make things more interesting. He said he came up with the idea of organizing a drag night that featured classic and muscle cars.
