Property owners from across Idaho have until Friday, June 20, to pay their second-half 2013 property tax payments this year.
The property tax bill has two deadlines for payments in Idaho. The first half is due on December 20 every year. The second half is due by June 20, said county treasurer Jeanette McKay.
“Payments have started to come into our office, and things really have picked up, especially the past week. We usually are the busiest the week prior to the June 20 deadline. I expect things will be a little hectic from now through next Friday,” she said.
To avoid delays at this time of year, I would suggest people come in early to take care of things, the treasurer said.
“There is a new method of payment that has been started in our office,” McKay said. “Property owners can now pay on-line. They go to franklincountyidaho.org and the software walks the user through it. It is really user-friendly. The funds come out of a person’s checking account. There is a $1 fee for this method of payment. The fee goes to the contracted company.
“If anyone has questions about this method of paying property taxes, they can contact our office at 208-852- 1097.”
