Stuart Buttars, of Preston, won a large trophy at Valley Wide Home & Ranch’s first annual antique tractor show held at the farm store on Friday and Saturday.
Organizers of the event said there were about 12 tractors entered into the contest that was voted on by customers.
Buttars, a retired farmer from the West Side, said he has never won a trophy before and was very pleased.
“I purchased the 1951 Ford 8N from a fellow in Star Valley, Wyo. It is similar to the first tractor I ever owned, which was also a Ford,” he said.
“I started restoring it in May 2000, after selling another restored tractor, a Farm All F12. As soon as I sold the Farm All, I felt bad and said I better buy another one and get it fixed up.”
Buttars has driven his winning entry in several parades in recent years.
Becky Sherer, also of Preston, won second place with a restored John Deere Model L, unstyled.
