“We made it!” said West Side senior Conner Waldron, during his welcoming speech at the graduation ceremony last week. Waldron read quotes from the book “Wind In The Willows.”

“Our life is full of potential. We are not only classmates, we are friends. Now we are done.” He continued encouraging fellow classmates to continue to fulfill that potential. At the end of his welcome, he recognized Jessie Park, of Korea and Lisa Buerger, of Germany, as the two exchange students that had attended West Side during the past year.

Salutatorian Kelsie Chugg said, “This is a milestone. It is a final chapter of high school and the beginning of life.”

She told graduates to remember, to live, learn and make mistakes as they go. She told them they had survived four years of high school and they can survive almost anything.
