Several campgrounds in and around Franklin County will provide outdoor enthusiasts plenty of venues for outdoor recreation during Memorial Day weekend.

Local officials said Cub River is running very high and water temperatures are extremely cold. Campers should take extreme precautions for safety’s sake because peak flows are occurring, officials added.

 

Campers and recreationists take advantage of a warm, sunny afternoon last Saturday at Glendale Reservoir, northeast of Preston. The reservoir is one of the most popular spots for boating and camping in the county and will be crowded this Memorial Day weekend.

There are several campgrounds near Preston around waterways and camping will be allowed on most, according to county officials. Things could be more crowded at these spots than normal this year because of the expected weather and excellent water conditions.
