Preston Golf and Country Club will be hosting a Chicago Tournament on Friday, May 16. Tee times will be 11 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Chicago is a points tournament. The player’s handicap is subtracted from 39 to get their quota. Players then receive points based on their score for each hole.
No points are awarded for double bogey or worse. One point is awarded for a bogey, two points for par, four points for a birdie and eight points for an eagle, according to John Van Vleet, general manager and head pro.
“Players total their points at the end and subtract their quota to determine their score. Players that get more points than their quota with have positive scores while those failing to reach their quota will have negative scores,” he said. “The highest score wins.”
Players may register by contacting the pro shop at 208-852-2408.
Following a spring one-man scramble on May 3, Mitch Ramsdell was the gross division winner in the championship flight with a 58.
