Preston police have released few details about a homicide that took place early Saturday morning, but booking records show that 41-year-old James Pilgrim has been booked into the Franklin County Jail on suspicion of homicide and aggravated assault.

Police Chief Ken Geddes said the incident occurred around 2 a.m. in a house at 801 W. 800 North.

Geddes said one man, who has not been named, died from multiple gunshot wounds. Another wounded man was transported in police custody to the Franklin County Medical Center.

Pilgrim was booked into the jail at 10 a.m.

The death is being investigated as a homicide, Geddes said.

Preston Police officers and deputies from the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office both responded to the scene. Geddes said there are no suspects at large.
