West Side’s softball team lost three games last week, making the season record 2-7 so far.
They faced the Beavers in American Falls Thursday afternoon. On Saturday the Pirates traveled to Glenns Ferry for a double header.
The Pirates will face the Soda Springs Cardinals at home on Thursday at 4 p.m. and play at a tournament at Malad on Saturday.
These games should help West Side to see how they fit into the district puzzle this year.
The Pirates opened their season against American Falls four weeks ago and lost 17-8. West Side lost 3-0 on Thursday.
Starting shortstop and second pitcher Stephanie Davis didn’t play in Thursday’s game, so the Pirates had to change their infield.
Freshman Kelsey Moyle was moved in from the outfield to play second base.
Second baseman Whitnee Smart was moved to third and third baseman Madison Moser moved to shortstop.
Despite the changes, the Pirates managed to play a much tighter game in order to keep the Beavers to only three runs.
Against Glenns Ferry the Pirates were unable to win either of the two games.
