The Cache Box track meet at USU on Wednesday and Thursday was cancelled due to weather.

But Preston, along with two other schools, decided to hold a meet of their own before Spring Break started this week.

“We had a meet on Friday,” said coach Brandon Lyon. “It was pretty crucial that we got a meet in. Because of Spring Break, our next meet’s not until the Logan Invite on April 12.

“If we didn’t get this meet in it would have been pushing three weeks without one,” he said.

“Despite many students already out of town for the week-long break, we had a good showing and put up some good marks against Bear River,” said Lyon.

The Indians were missing about 40 students and took second on the girls’ side by just half a point at 77. Bear River won with 77.5.

On the boys’ side, West Side took first with 88 and Preston second at 77.
