Local big cat expert and probation officer Boone Smith will give a presentation on his work with National Geographic on tracking and preserving big cats on Friday, March 14, at 7 p.m. at the Preston High School auditorium.
The event was set up to help the junior high English department to acquire new technology for their department. There will be a silent auction starting at 6 p.m.
Tickets are $5/individual or $20/family and may be purchased from any English teacher at the junior high or at the office. Tickets will also be available at the door.
Junior high English teacher Jan McCarthy said, “We just called and asked him and he said he would do it.
“This looks to be an awesome night. I’ve seen the video footage that Boone plans to share and it is incredible.”
McCarthy issued a thanks to those who donated items to the silent auction.
