The Preston High School Jazz Band is set for their first ever “Moon Dance,” a night of dining and dancing, to be held this Saturday, Feb. 22, at 7 p.m. in the old PHS gym. Also on the program and set to perform are the PHS Ballroom Dance Team, Jazz Choir and other selected students.
Wayne Manning, the school’s band director, said the cost of the evening will be $10 per person. Tickets can be purchased from any band member or the PHS office and will be on sale now through the event and at the door.
Manning and parents of some of his students are trying to organize a band booster committee. They will hold a meeting Thursday, March 6, to select officers and try to set some fundraisers up.
There are up to 50 members of the high school band and cost of new uniforms will be about $4,500.
Not only will there be a jazz-band performing, but they will also have vocalists, ballroom dancing and others participating.
For more information contact Manning at 208- 852-0751.
