Online tax payments started

February 12, 2014

Assistant editor

Franklin County Treasurer Jeanette McKay said a new method of property tax payment has just started in her office.

Property owners can now pay online.

“They go to franklincountyidaho.org and the software walks the user through it. It is really user-friendly.

“The funds come out of a person’s checking account. There is a $1 fee for this method of payment. The fee goes to the contracted company.”

She also said residents may not realize they can make property tax payments monthly or quarterly if they desire, “just as long as the entire tax bill is paid in full prior to the June 20 deadline every year.
