West Side girls regroup

DAYTON – The West Side girls’ basketball team had another difficult week.

They played the Grizzlies in Grace on Wednesday and lost 69-43. They faced Soda Springs on Friday night at home and lost 56-31.

This week the Pirates have another two district games. They play Aberdeen at home on Wednesday night.

The first time the Pirates played the Tigers this year the game went into overtime and ended 63-60 in the Tiger’s favor.

On Friday they travel to Malad to play the Dragons. The last time the teams met the Pirates lost 49- 41.

Coach Kelly Hobson tried a different starting lineup against Grace, but the Pirates still struggled to pass effectively and avoid turnovers.

The Pirates started well and were only down by one point at the end of the first quarter 11-10. The second quarter was much different and the Cardinals exploded for 22 points.
