The Dayton Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has been relocated from the Preston North Stake to the Preston South Stake.
In a letter from President Dax Keller to members of his stake he said, “The First Presidency approved a change in our stake boundaries that moved the entire Dayton Ward out of our stake and into the South Stake.
The Dayton Ward members sustained the decision.
“We will miss them tremendously and know of the blessings they will be in the South Stake,” Keller said. “We recognize that there are no boundaries to friendships we have formed and know that they will continue always.”
President Blair Waldron of the Preston South Stake said, “We want to welcome these new members to our stake.
“They will be a great strength to our stake and will be of help to us,” Waldron said. “We are excited to have them, it will be a good thing for our stake.”
The changes in the Franklin County stakes will equalize the number of members in each stake.
“Now all three stakes have about the same number of wards,” Waldron said.
