Wayne Manning, the band instructor in Preston School District, and parents of some of his students, are in the process of organizing a band booster committee. They will hold a meeting Thursday, March 6, to select officers and get some fundraisers set up.

“We are trying to get support for the band and their activities,” Manning said. “We also would like to set up some fundraising activities to help out with the purchase of uniforms and other expenses. We will need to get the rules and requirements put in place.”

There are up to 50 members of the high school band and cost of new uniforms will be about $4,500.

The band teacher also said they will have their first annual jazz dinner and dance on Feb. 22, at 7 p.m. Not only will there be a jazz band performing, but they will also have vocalists, ballroom dancing and others participating.

For more information contact Manning at 208-852-0751.
