The Franklin County Commission recently approved a contract with the Forest Service for the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department to provide law enforcement patrols at campgrounds this summer and fall.
The county’s Search and Rescue unit will patrol Willow Flat and Albert Moser campgrounds in Cub River Canyon as soon as they are open for use by the Forest Service.
The contracted amount is $3,114, according to Sheriff Dave Fryar.
Fryar also told the commission that Ireland Bank is financing two new patrol pickups under a lease arrangement with the department.
