The West Side boys’ basketball team added another two wins to their record last week.
They defeated Grace on Wednesday at home and then the Cardinals in Soda Springs on Friday. The final score of Wednesday’s game was 59-44 and the following game ended 50-44.
This week the Pirates have another two games, both away. First they travel to Malad on Wednesday night to play the Dragons, who currently stand at the top of the district. On Saturday they will face Bear Lake.
On Wednesday Kaden Bingham opened scoring with a three-point shot. The Pirates ended the first quarter up by four 17-13.
West Side extended it’s lead to 36-26 at the half.
The Pirates outscored Grace’s by five in the third.
Matt Turnbow led the scoring for the Pirates with 13. Bingham was close behind with 11. Wyatt Beckstead added eight. Josh King, Jason Wade, and Tristen Cox each scored six points.
The Pirates took the early lead against Soda with a first quarter score of 13-6. In the second quarter turnovers troubled the Pirates and at half time the score was tied at 24.
As the game went into its final minute, the Pirates shot 10 foul shots and made five.
Again Turnbow led the Pirates’ scoring with 13 points. King scored 10 and Cox eight.
