Franklin County Fire Marshal Scott Martin said the fire call came in at 12:30 a.m. Sunday morning.

The house was owned by Steve Kent at 364 S. Westside Highway 36, according to Martin.

“It appears the cause of the fire was an electrical short,” said Martin.

“I’m estimating damage between $150,000- 200,000. The house was completely destroyed. ”
