West Side’s girls’ basketball team played back-to-back games this week. The first, on Wednesday, was in Aberdeen.

It was the Pirates’ first district game of the season and it was also their closest game of the season. They lost in overtime 63-60.

They played the Bear Lake Grizzlies on Thursday night at home. The Pirates lost that game 61- 47.

The girls have little time to rest with another game during the Christmas Holiday break. They play on Dec. 28 at home against Grace.

Wednesday night seemed to belong to the Pirates. The team had a great night.

Sophomores Mattie Creager and Addie Cook both finished with 18 points. Ally Lemmon chipped in with 12 points, and Stephanie Davis added another nine points. In addition, Nikki Geddes had at least five steals.
