West Side’s boys’ basketball team lost against Firth on Wednesday night. Because the Pirates were missing two players, Jason Wade and Tristen Cox due to injuries, the team was at an extreme disadvantage. In the end, West Side lost 58-38.
During the Christmas break, the Pirates travel to Rich County High School. The game will be on Saturday, Dec. 28.
The first quarter of Wednesday’s game belonged to Firth. They hit three, three-point field goals in a row followed by another four points and two more three-point shots, making the score a lopsided 19-0.
During that time, the Pirates kept turning the ball over. Before the quarter was over, however, the Pirates managed to put five points of their own on the score board with an offensive rebound by sophomore Josh King and a three-point shot by junior Brennon Henderson.
