Winners: Preston FFA teams place at nationals

Two teams from Preston’s FFA Chapter placed 10th and 18th, respectively, in competition at the 86th National FFA Convention held in Louisville, Ky., recently.

WILLOW VALLEY 5X7.5

The Agricultural Technology and Mechanical Systems team placed 10th in the nation, receiving Gold team recognition. The Food Science team placed 18th in the nation competing against others from around the country, receiving Silver team recognition.

Preston High School FFA advisors Larin Crossley and Josh Evans took 14 FFA students to the event late last month.

“The students mingled with 58,000 other FFA members from all 50 states at the convention,” said Crossley.

“We all attended leadership workshops, heard keynote speakers and attended a career expo and career development events,” said Crossley.

“Our chapter represented the Idaho FFA association with two state champion teams, which qualified for the national competition last year.”
