In Hunger Games: Catching Fire, Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark become targets of the Capitol after their victory in the 74th Hunger Games sparks a rebellion in the Districts of Panem. Catching Fire is the sequel to the first Hunger Games movie.
The Preston Citizen and Tremonton Leader newspapers are pulling out all the stops for an event for the premiere of the movie on Thursday, Nov. 21, 8 p.m. at the University 6 Theaters in Logan, 1225 N. 200 E. Event tickets are $20 each and there is also a best dressed contest. The audience will choose two winners. One will win a 42-inch HD TV and the other, a $550 vacation package.
“If you calculate all the give-a-ways and the prizes that are being offered, the $20 per person ticket price is a steal,” said Greg Madson, publisher. “It includes a $5 concession voucher and other prizes. It will be a lot of fun.
“We are real excited to bring this type of event to the community. We are thankful to the sponsors who are making this happen. This is the first try, we hope for bigger and better things each time we do one.”
The Hunger Games first swept the country as a young adult novel and then became a movie sensation, packing theaters last year.
