This year’s Candlelight dinner will be held at the Robinson building on Sat. Nov. 9, with two seatings, one at 6 p.m. and the other at 8 p.m. Tickets will be $15 a plate.
Last year the Festival Candlelight dinner tickets were sold to area merchants first. This year they opened the dinner tickets up to the public first.
“We wanted to sell tickets to the public this year instead of the merchants. We had some complaints that the tickets were gone before the public had a chance to buy them,” Tiffany Jeppsen, the dinner organizer said. “Tickets are selling, but not as fast as we anticipated.”
The Festival Candlelight dinner and auction is traditionally the major fundraiser for the event. The money is used to update the city’s lights for decorating trees along State Street and other displays.
New York Deli’s Michael Nicholas will be cooking the meat in his well-known, slow smoked way. The potatoes were donated by State Representative Marc Gibbs, of Grace. There will also be vegetables, salad, rolls and dessert served at the dinner. Gordon Brewster from Mis Amores will also help with the dinner.
