The Preston boys’ soccer team is still in the running for state after knocking off Rigby in a loser out play-in game on Saturday.
They also beat Rigby earlier in the week and lost to Blackfoot on the road setting them up as the fourth seed in the district tournament.
The Indians played top-seeded Century at 2 p.m. on Tuesday at Bonneville High School. Results will be posted on our website Tuesday nite. www.prestoncitizen.com
It was a beautiful day but the field was still wet from storms earlier in the week when the boys played Rigby in the first round of the district tournament.
Though Rigby nearly scored on the opening kickoff, the Indians scored first when Eli Ramirez received a pass from Zac Roper and beat the Rigby goalkeeper with a 25-yard shot to the left post in the 12th minute.
The Trojans didn’t let that last long, though, and five minutes later scored one of their own tying it up 1-1.
The Indians took back the lead at the 30-minute mark when Dalton Lloyd, who usually plays keeper, sent in Seth Stockdale’s corner kick.
