DAYTON – Some 42 West Side Middle School students will perform the musical “Honk Jr.” on Oct. 16-17 and 19 at the Dahle Performing Arts Center in Dayton.
The three-day production will begin at 7 p.m. Tickets can be purchased in advance through eighth-grade students or at the Beutler Middle School office. They can also be purchased at the door. Monies raised from the production will be placed into an account to help with costs of next year’s musical, said officials.
“‘Honk Jr’ is tells the story of an ugly duckling, which has a place in today’s society. It deals with bullying,” said new music director Nate Woodward. Woodward took the position at West Side High and Middle school held previously by Jaron Packer.
“I hope this production has a positive impact on all students, especially younger kids. It’s a very relevant topic,” he said.
